Over the past few years Matt has been ambitiously touring and getting his music in front of eager ears. In 2008, Matt and his band toured Japan for sold out crowds in Tokyo, Hitachi and Kyoto. The following year Matt toured Irleand and England on a Europe acoustic tour entitled, "Let the Peasants Be Kings". Prior to his international tour dates, Matt played across the U.S. in a wide variety of venues including the King King Hollywood (Hollywood, CA), the legendary South by Southwest Music Festival (Austin, TX), DFest - Oklahoma's premier music festival (Tulsa, OK), Hard Rock Cafe (Dallas, TX) and numerous concerts and showcases across the Midwest, which includes Arkansas, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas and Missouri. After an interesting ride through the music industry Matt signed with Authentik Arists to bring his visions as a solo artist to life. With the release of Matt's first solo CD, a six song EP entitled Self Portrait (October 2009 release), Matt brings you a whole new dimension of his song-writing and musicianship. Prior to hitting the studio Matt sat down for pre-production with his friend and national recording artist, Graham Colton (Universal Records), to work through song selection and arrangements. Graham became executive producer and co-wrote two songs with Matt ("You Could Have It All" and "Pull Yourself Together"). Self Portrait EP was produced by Jarod Evans (Jami Smith, Ty England, The Umbrellas) at Blackwatch Studios in Norman, OK and includes performances by Will Hunt (Ryan Cabrera, Nick Lachey and Amy Lee of Evanescence) on drums along with some of the finest musicians in Oklahoma, including Dan Walker on Hammond B3 organ, Brine Webb on bass and Grant Stevens on trumpet. The EP was mixed by Shane Wilson (Switchfoot, Third Day, Mercy Me) and mastered by Mike Fossenkemper (Multiple Platinum, Gold and Grammy nominations). Self Portrait represents a matured body of work that is reflective, intimate and transparent. The songs are organically driven by well-written, acoustic-based songs with pop sensibility and catchy lyrics. Matt feels right at home with these new songs and has gone back to his roots with an acoustic guitar and a good song. See Matt on tour and purchase the new EP to see why this unique artist is turning heads.
