Max Cruz Biography Max Cruz from his real name, Maxime De La Cruz was born in Montreal on April 9th 1984. He was born and raised on the South Shore of Montreal. This young artist discovered his talent for poetry and writing at the age of 13 years old. He later put his devotion for words and the love that he had for music together and started to craft his talent. At first, he formed the group The Committee. He shared the stage with internationally renowned artists such as Busta Flex, Oxmo Puccino of France, M-1 (Dead Prez), Ludacris and more recently with T-Pain. Max Cruz also did openings from Gospel artists from the United States such as Deitrick Haddon, Cynthia Jones & Shekinah Glory Ministry. Max Cruz participated in the 2006 Festival HipHop Forever and his group won second place. The Committee also won second place in the Urban Synergy Festival during the same year. From these beginnings in the music scene, Max Cruz has participated in over thirty shows of any kind in Montreal and New York. Today has a solo artist, Max Cruz has developed his own style, which is constantly evolving to this day. Through his writings, he expresses and describes what is happening around him and acting in a way, as a journalist. In 2010, Max Cruz launched his debut album entitled ''Legend of Now’’. All the money raised from the sales of this album, will be donate to a nonprofit organization that helps different spheres member in his hometown of Montreal. Through this album, Max Cruz is trying to make see rap music from a different angle than the usual stereotypes found in this genre of music such as money, gangsters, drugs, girls and cars. Max Cruz wants to encourage people to talk about real things such as love, perseverance and excellence. He believes that theses themes will give a second wind to this art form that is unfortunately slowly fading away. Having in mind other subjects than money, drugs and cars he is doing a great job at straying away from the usual clichés of this Hip Hop industry. He is firstly seeking to reach the masses with subject that concerns them and topics that are life changing. His music is refreshing, sincere, powerful and entertaining, which perfectly reflects his own personality. Focusing on versatility, he is constantly trying to achieve new level of success in his work. For him “the truth is the key that can unlock several doors in life. We should not take anything for granted whether they are big or small. If we wish to make a difference we need to get in the crowd and then lead by our actions in order to be an example of success”. Max Cruz considers his talent as a gift and his more than determined to share it with the masses.
