Melissa Rose Ziemer

Southern Indiana, Illinois & California bred singer/songwriter Melissa Rose Ziemer (pronounced 'zeemer') spent 9 years in the Windy City of Chicago fronting the bands 'Soul Intention', 'Gertrude' and 'The Juleps'. She released her first solo EP in 2005 titled 'Not All Black & White' which she toured extensively behind in the UK and throughout the Midwest, garnering a substantial amount of press regarding the musical arrangements, songwriting, and strong yet subtle vocals. Equally comfortable in the folk, pop, and rock genres, Miss Melissa's rhythmic ability, voice and collaborative intuition, has led her to write, record and perform with some of the finest live and studio musicians throughout the Midwest & West Coast. Comparisons have ranged from folkies Joan Baez & Emmylou Harris to pop/rock artists such as Natalie Merchant, Sheryl Crow, Alanis Morrissette, and Shania Twain.
