Hi, and welcome to the site! My name is Mendi Baron. I am a performing, currently unsigned, solo artist as well as a student of Social Work, pursuing a degree to work with At-Risk teens.. I am looking for YOU to hear my music, find a connection, pass it along, and take over the world, one fan at a time! Biography: Mendi Baron is a singer, guitarist and songwriter with a backing rock band.. Born and bred in Columbia MD, Mendi is a Rabbi’s son, a Social Worker/councilor for At-Risk teens, and a musician, and was raised in a life of music, both at the head of the congregation, and at home. Today Mendi is a performing artist with a guitar on his back, a kippa (Jewish Skullcap) on his head, and an EP touching down JAN2010 filled with catchy and original compositions…. The songs performed by Mendi and the band are driven by soulful vocals, the sweet sound of metal and accoustic guitar styling ,and a tight rhythm section comprised of bass and drums, as each member brings their musical experience and talents to the table… Mendi has also been recently recruited as part of the Military Entertainment Roster to play for the US troops overseas.. Past performances include: Merriweather Post Pavilion (Columbia @ 40 festival), The Unite States Capitol Building/National Mall D.C, Six Flags Theme Park, Sykesville Summer Concerts, Columbia Lakefront Festival, Howard Community College, Israel Festival, Jewish in Gaithersburg Festival, The 8x10, Mad City,Summerstock '09, as well as many local venues, clubs and privately booked shows.. Influences include:Daughtry,Paramore, Three Doors Down, Avenged Sevenfold, Thrice, Breaking Benjamin, U2,Coldplay,Kings of Leon..
