Meshwell was formed in the Summer of '06 when Floyd and Ryan met through a mutual aquaintance. RAH had heard FLOW'S early recordings but hadn't met him until then. Meshwell was formed in the Summer of '06 when Floyd and Ryan met through a mutual aquaintance. RAH had heard FLOW'S early recordings but hadn't met him until then. After hearing RAH rhyme over 1 of his beats, FLOW decided that it was a good match up. The 2 went over some ideas for songs and went to work. Over a few months time they joined up with Garageband.com to see how they could do. After some critical feedback they went back to work at perfecting the sound. IAC sent them an invitation to join their site to help beef up their hip hop genre charts. Within a month's time, Meshwell had dropped their first single, "Ev'ry Town," and it landed at #1 on IAC. It remained their for 2 weeks and then dropped into the Top 20. Meshwell has put 3 songs into the # 1 spot at IAC and they have all held it more than once. The most notable to date is titled "Your Day Will Come", which was picked by Cashboxmagazine.com editors as the #1 Hip Hop Indie song 2 months in a row. It also was selected by XM Radio to be played on their Show Us What You Got! contest show a few months back. It didn't win that contest but has given Meshwell the boost and exposure they need to go further. Being based in Northern Maine is pretty tough when your passion is music. Gettin a break up here for traditional radio play, or any type of exposure period, is pretty much impossible. Now with internet based stations and sites like IAC, Myspace, and Ourstage, Indie artists of every genre have an equal chance to do something big with their music. Meshwell wishes for nothing more than to be respected for what they can do and if fame or fortune follow than so be it.
