Hey, my name is Michael Calder. I live in the Old Hickory, near Nashville where I've been writing and performing my songs for the past 13 yrs. which is long enough to sharpen your song writing skills.
Now, by looking at my photo it's obvious I've been around a little while and the music in me has been around just as long.
I started playing guitar at 9 yrs of age. At 14, I was in my first band. I have been recorded, sold, signed, and walked away for a simpler career in the Arts and Graphic field. But I couldn't walk away from the music in me and for years I played clubs everywhere, solo or with a band.
Since, living in Nashville I've had the privilege to call some of the best Country songwriters today my friends. I have been spotlighted in the American Songwriter magazine. I am now in the process of recording my first cd here in Music Row at both Studio 19 and Omni Sound Studios. I'm looking to complete my project by mid January, 2011. My first 2 songs out are now being played by web radio R.E.W. and by the Swiss band "Firewall." It is my pleasure to be involved in this song competion.
