Well...a little short on time at the moment...but I just submitted one of my songs for the Keith Urban thing and they didnt leave enough room for me to finish the story about the song...so here is...the rest of the story! About the song "Melt"... Shortly after my daughter was born was when I started touring full time. After 5 years of extensive travel and my focus being acutely on “all things music”, my wife had had enough and we separated. After 3 years of separation we stopped the newly submitted divorce paperwork and reconciled. That was nearly 3 years ago and I have been working hard to make sure she knows that her and my daughter (Michaela) are the most important thing to me now. My wife Mary still has been uncomfortable at times wondering if she would ever take second place again, so when she was the one who brought up submitting a song to this competition, I knew it had to be this song, and it had to be all about her and I and our desire to continue the process of “melt”-ing together, both for our marriage, and for the sake of our 9 year old daughter! Oh yeah, she is also a HUGE Keith Urban fan!
