More than a producer, this EMI-Rap Legends Recordings arist is a New York City born writer/lyricist who has been making music since age 13. With influences stemming from producers such as Michael Jackson, Diamond D, Herbie Hancock, Quincy Jones, Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis, Doctor Dre, the RZA and DJ Premier (as well as others), Mikey Jay has grown up to become a force to be reckoned with. He is an entertainer, a crowd pleaser, and his multi-dimensional mind is what sets him apart from others in the industry. With production credits from artists such as Bonecrusher, Jason Fox, Nicole Wray, Jaz-o, Rampage, Grandmaster Caz, & KRS-One to name a few, Mikey has appeared on numerous cable access channels & radio shows. In 2007 & 2009 he was a Guest Judge on B.E.T.’s 106th & Park’s Freestyle Friday. In 2007 he was a Special Guest on B.E.T.’s Rap City Producer’s Week. He has been featured in magazines such as Mbrace & Protégé, and has graced the cover of Diamond Life. He has performed in many showcases, shows and events such as the Funkmaster Flex Car Show in Ocean City, Maryland.
In 2007 he toured with pioneer Emcee Kool Keith and gained a whole new fan base. Mikey has since become a headliner for other major events. In 2007 he won 2 Mic Check awards, and in 2008 he was the recipient of an Independent Music Award and an Excellence Award from Coconation for best hip-hop & production. In 2009 he released his debut album titled “A Dollar & a Dream”, and can also be heard on the new Hot 97 Vols. 3-5 & 9, Radio Impact, Street Kings, and Rotten Apples mixtapes. Mikey Jay aka "Mr. Stupid Fresh" appeared at Club Pyramid on January 20, 2010 as a guest judge for F.L.O. Empire's "Lights Camera Action Show." The cameras were rolling as 15 recording artists competed for prizes, and Mikey Jay did a special performance where he premiered his new single "Stupid Fresh.”

The video for “Stupid Fresh” premiered on Ralph McDaniels’ “Video Music Box” January 2010, and Uncle Ralph defined “Stupid Fresh” as a Movement. "Stupid Fresh" puts the fun back in Hip-Hop, all ages will enjoy the catchy lyrics and fresh beat. On February 12, 2010 Music Choice - Music on Demand added the "Stupid Fresh" video to their Hip-Hop & R&B line-up, under the Hip-Hop & Rap category. In October 2010 Mikey Jay will be releasing "Can't change me" the follow up to his hit "Stupid Fresh". EMI-Rap Legends Recordings will be releasing "Can't Change Me" to all the major networks which will kick off the Mikey Jay campaign.
Now with his joint venture deal with Universal Music Group Mikey will be releasing his 2nd album Spring 2010.
