Missus & Mister, an indie-electronic-folk band from San Jose, CA, are finally ready to showcase their music. It's been a long time coming, but it's finally here. Missus & Mister formed way back in 2004 (more like 2003) when the Missus, Shenelle, and the Mister, Spencer, met in their college music courses. Four and a half years later, they finally have enough time to create music instead of learning about or teaching music.
You see, since they've met, they both graduated with degrees in music, got married (to each other) and then went on to get a Master's in Music Education. The Missus at University of the Arts and the Mister at Boston University. They also both teach music, the Missus at a Middle School and the Mister at a High School.
In the spring of 2007, the Mister jumped into the music industry as a music blogger and editor for the influential My Crazy Music Blog, Phillyist and SFist.com. After listening to countless hours of music and critiquing musicians from around the world, he finally had an epiphany: he wanted to do the same.
Missus and Mister began.
Music consumes their lives. If they aren't teaching music, they are listening. When they aren't listening to music, they are critiquing it. When they aren't critiquing they are usually performing. If they aren't doing any of those, then they are sleeping. It's just that simple.
The Missus writes all the music and lyrics, while the Mister critiques and ends up adding harmonies and the violin. After countless hours in front of the computer, finally there is an end product. As the journey progresses we hope to add new music every couple of weeks, but we wanted to start with our favorite, "No One Knows."
