MONOGOLD met and formed in 2002 at a university in New York. (Jared Apuzzo - Drums, Keith Kelly - Guitar/Vocals) in the winter of 2002, moved into williamsburg Brooklyn where they continued writing and performing along with other performing and recording musicians at the time. (Jared Apuzzo - Drums, Keith Kelly - Guitar/Vocals) in the winter of 2002, moved into williamsburg Brooklyn where they continued writing and performing along with other performing and recording musicians at the time. They're high energy,frantically explosive and often subdued approach toward melody and sound gave them a sense of contrast while at the same time it was also familiar and cohesive. Using influences from 80s new wave and punk to 90s indie/alternative their sound is distinct and after many regional and national shows and years of poverty all their own.
