Born May 12th, 1986, Brian Montgomery Delaney (Monty Rock) came into the world eager to leave his mark. The son of a Marine and a Social Worker, life growing up was no fairy tale. Born and raised in Pelham, New York (Westchester) his parents were separated when he was only 5 years old. Raised by his mother his father was always close by. Growing up he lived an average life, always into playing sports, and extracurricular activities, music never seemed to be a major outlet for him, although he was always exposed to music since his father is also a singer/ songwriter/ musician. With a very outgoing personality, and a don't sweat the small stuff, mentality, Brian always seems to know how to make the best out of any situation. With more car accidents and serious injuries under his belt then most of his friends combined; including being thrown out of a window at 2 (thanks Jackie), having a seizure and fracturing his skull at 3, numerous high fevers with hallucinations as a child, and more broken bones then he can count, it is amazing that he can even function today, let alone write, produce, engineer, mix and perform his own tracks.
Up until high school he was always his mommy's little angel... that is, until he discovered partying. Some would say he's the life of the party, but really he just knows how to bring a party to Life. At a house party, you can find him doing weird things in weird places... at the club, you can find him sweating profusely, dancing by himself all night. By the end of his high school career, sports were of the past, and "Living it up" was the way of the future. After graduating from Pelham Memorial High School in 2004, he then took a year off and worked full time as a plumbers assistant, followed by a failed attempt at Concordia College. It was not until then that he began to think about a career in the music business.
In 2006, he was charged and convicted with a DWI, leaving him with a lot of down time... this is when he started to write and produce his first tracks. He then went on to receive a certificate at the Institute of Audio Research, in 2007, followed by working in a production studio full time for 2 years (Up Against the Wall Productions). It was here that he learned to do sound for film, audio engineering, video editing, camera operating, and music production, while he continued to write song after song. He is now enrolled in Mercy College and working to obtain a degree in Music Industry and Technology to further his skills.
It was not until Brian started recording his music, and sharing it with friends that he, and everyone else realized there was an undeniable talent... and MONTY ROCK was born. It has only been 4 years since beginning his journey into the world of Music and Entertainment, and he has plenty to show for it. With nothing but original beats, catchy hooks, and above average lyrics, MONTY ROCK is definitely an artist to keep an eye on. With his first album getting pressed in the next couple months, and a reality TV show pilot in the works, expect to see more of Monty Rock in the years to come. Willing to work other professionals, and any hungry new artists, Monty Rock is all about making quality music for the masses.
