Ms. RAW, also known as Ritta A. Willis, is a native of Comanche County, OK. & Galveston, TX. The Dirty South, Mid-West, and West Coast flavor have always been influential in my life. I've been back and forth most of my life- East to West and in between... Hard knocks came and went for my mother and I, but... momma's a solider, and watching her hustle and work so hard... taught me to "be everything but a quitter, beggar, or a follower. Handle your business this lifetime." I started writing poems, songs, and short stories. Through school I stayed consistent with my writing, kept a good-standing grade (at least in English, Math, & Literature). I listened to 102.9 (especially nights Quiet Storm) and weekends (Hip-hop mixes), and took care of home. I just knew I'd get discovered by Teddy Riley (smile)... Anyway, ..."Black Cop"..."Reasonable Doubt"..."Makaveli"... workin', writin', rhymin', grindin'... hittin a few booths in-between, but steady writing rhymes, love songs, whatever I felt like that day. What happens next? You all know the story, she meets a guy (solider), gets married (because I could), has a baby (out of love), divorced, now he has 30 mo' kids & I have 1 child, in that order. Whew! LOL!... In the end, I was blessed with a beautiful daughter to love, forever, my heartbeat. She loves to sing and has been singing since she was 5- so watch out!- In between life’s struggles and paperchasin', I always kept a job, or hustle. From doing hair to interior painting, from cleaning offices, to diamond sales. Some of the states I lived and visited, Oklahoma, Kansas, Louisiana, Texas, Virginia, Maryland, New York, Georgia, Mississippi, Indiana, Nevada, and California. In Los Angeles, where I had the chance to audition for casting calls, I was chosen for a few music videos, movies and Comic View(a lil extra cash while I'm visitin ya know.) The set was so live when the cameras rolled! I was blessed with opportunities to see and meet, LL.Cool J, Treach, Prodigy, Dilated Peoples, Xibit, Silk(R&B), Chris Tucker, Master P, M.L. Davis, Ron Hightower (it aint like that), Don D.C. Curry, Spanky Hayes, Snoop Dogg, Gangsta Boo, Sir Jinks, Big Percy, Benzino (Ray- Source Mag), and others who gave me motivation to "Keep on Pushin" (would've loved to meet UGK). It was all possible through a friend at BET who took Ms.RAW to the sets wit ha, Thanks OZ!! *** "Friends and fam, thank You- for always inspiring me, encourageing me, helping me when I need a word, and staying down so long.
