Dave Dent (Bass, Vocals) George Naum (Drums) Taso Kollias (Lead Vocals) Eric Wojnicki (Guitar, Vocals) My Sedatious Sister makes it’s return after a nearly seven year hiatus. 2010 will not only mark the return of the Chicago based foursome to the stage, but will also see light of a newly released cd of their distinct, hook-laden, melodic rock, currently being recorded at guitarist Eric Wojnicki’s Chroma Tone Studios. Forming in 1993, My Sedatious Sister came onto the scene with their own unique brand of rock, playing various local venues from the Thirsty Whale to the Vic Theater, often times supporting national acts. They quickly amassed a loyal following and were approached in 1995 by local indie label Eatin’ Records, to join the label and record their debut. After ten months in the studio, “My Sedatious Sister”, the self titled debut was released. The album featured some of the bands most eclectic material and pushed the parameters of what local bands had done both musically and sonically. In 1998 the band once again entered the studio to begin recording their follow-up to their debut, but this time as a three piece with Naum, Kollias and Wojnicki handling all the writing and production. Released in 1999 on their own label, “Erotica Hypnotica”, was a four song E.P. which marked yet another new direction in song writing approach, putting a heavy emphasis on melody and catchy hooks. Reforming in mid 2009 for a one off charity re-union show, it became quite evident that My Sedatious Sister was far from being over. The band quickly moved into Chroma Tone studios and started writing and rehearsing. It was at these sessions that the seed was planted for some of the most amazing material My Sedatious Sister has written to date. Currently the band is recording the new album and is anxiously looking toward a spring 2010 release.
