About Nita Chawla
An urban girl with a southern heart and eastern roots, Nita leans towards a melody-driven song-writing style. Her adult contemporary sound has hints of her eastern roots and forms a sometimes sweet and sometimes edgy musical palette.
She took classical piano lessons while growing up and added guitar to the mix in her early teens. In her late teens though, she ditched the classical for the more liberating experience of writing songs with lyrics.
In July of 2009, she worked with producer Jeffery David (Rachel Lampa) in L.A. to complete three tracks off her debut album “Fall Again EP” which was released in February 2010. Her song "Forgive Me" received an honorable mention in the 2010 MASC (Mid-Atlantic Songwriting Contest) and was most recently featured on the new talent reality show, "The Voice".
In addition to performing her solo work, Nita has also previously performed with psychedelic eastern rock band, Iritis, and with the nationally touring live Bollywood band, Kehkashaan, as a vocalist and keyboardist.
