NIZZIE AKA - YOUNG N.Y.N.E. [New York Never Ends] www.myspace.com/nizzieakayoungnyne Emerging rap artist Nizzie (aka Young N.Y.N.E.), has his eye on the prize when it comes to his career in the music industry. He is a lyricist that combines his love for music and unique perspective on life with thought provoking words and images. Nizzie has created his first single, “My Jam (Hey DJ)”. A native of Columbia, South Carolina, Chavon Vanias (aka Nizzie) spent his early years down South before moving to Brooklyn, NY to live with his father Tony who worked in the A&R departments of Motown Records and Island/Def Jam where he met many of his inspirational music pioneers including Stevie Wonder, Sean Combs, and Jay Z. It was there in the big city that he wrote his first rap. He was a young acting prodigy starring in various church and school plays, however, music became his stronghold and he hasn’t left it since. It was at the young age of 9 where Nizzie met Joseph Moore aka Black Spadez at M.S. 141, who became his rap music mentor. By the age of 12, Nizzie formed his first rap group , Da Menace (later known as 4th Suspect), with Joseph and another friend Phil, where he was dubbed Grimlinz as part of the group. The trio gained local notoriety after performing their own rendition of lyrics over the Redman/Method Man beat for “How High” and after he wrote rap song about African American leaders. He returned to South Carolina to establish a relationship with his newly discovered biological father and continued his musical efforts after meeting his godbrother Anthony, aka Amp Shellz. In 2003, it was with Amp and fellow rapper Metro Kidd where he formed his second rap group, Darkside, and changed his stage name to Young N.Y.N.E. (New York Never Ends), although he still kept the nickname Nizzie. The group garnered success with the release of various mixtapes. Two years later, they met DJ Aaries, front man for Legion of Doom, who booked them for their first performance at a local bike show. By 2006, Nizzie was featured in the 2nd issue of Mocha Teen Magazine and performing at many different car shows, colleges, parks, and high schools. He also opened up for Pharrell’s duo, The Clipse, and Lil Jon’s artist, Bohagan. In 2007, Nizzie moved to Tampa, FL to live with his mother, which is where he met Danny Donut and DJ Clips and co hosted a radio show on WTMP 96.1FM alongside Pauly The Muscle and Hot Manda. He teamed up with best friend Scheme and formed the rap duo Trak Killaz, which was featured by the artist promotion outlet, A&R Select. Later that year, he returned to South Carolina and met Metrofficial’s CEO, P. Grizz who featured Nizzie on his first sensual mixtape, “Sheet Music” and many of Grizz’s other mixtapes including “Get Familiar Vol 2”. Not satisfied with local fame, Nizzie moved to Charlotte, North Carolina in 2008, where his father Tony relocated, in order take his music career to greater heights with Tony’s company, Matchbox Entertainment. He has received a great response from his songs and videos posted on MySpace, You Tube, Google video and AOL video and he continues to create his own swagger that moves hip hop heads worldwide.
