Being raised along side two sisters by a single mother, has had a very strong influence on his life. Never having to struggle or "want" for anything, the music he creates reflect nothing less than good times and and good spirit surrounded by the dream of becoming "rich ad famous"!! So with dreams and drive, he is determined to make something out of nothing with the talent that he has been blessed with! ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- With a delivery and a style of "word-play" that has yet to be matched or compared to any current or past artist, it is, hands down, something that sets N.Jay apart from so many other artists who lack the ORIGINALITY! Having locally distributed three (3) solo Mix-Tapes (CEO Status Vol.1 & 2, and Heart On My Sleeve) He has managed to become relavent in the local hip-hop/rap scene. "As a solo artist I feel I have to set myself apart from the rest of the flock in order to become successful" he says. N.Jay also reflects on being his own writer, producer,engineer, designer, manager etc..."I always had to ask for beats or favors, but when I took the time and made the effort to DO IT MYSELF, I realized it was just as sufficient if not more than having to always ask!" Also adding, "the best time is your own time!". ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- “I LOVE to be different,” says N.Jay. “My style of music is formatted to be recognizable but also to show a strong difference from the sound that floods the everyday listeners ears day in and day out" ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- In early 2000, N.Jay started to book and perform at his first shows that launched his drive to become a nationally known artist. Having been all over the Metro Detroit area as well as out of state, he has shown a stage precense that highlights his love for his music. Being his own manager & producer has made him stronger and more aware of the ups and downs of the industry. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The un-official "break-up" of his group "Krack Ciity Klick", and the halt of his independant record label "Get Back Entertainment" were the events that prompted his solo career. "Being a manager AND a producer for several artists becamce too heavy" he says. "I wanted to continue my personal mission as well as help those who had the same views". With too many mouths to feed, he decided to dedicate his time and effort to becoming a prominate solo artist on his label. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Since then, things have been looking upward for N.Jay. Still working closely with the people who he came this far with,he has established connections with people who are willing and ready to help him move forward.
