Born in August of 1988 in the busy city of Indianapolis, Indiana, Shakhanah was always a musical child. She was singing before she could talk, playing on pianos as a toddler, and wrote her first song at the tender age of 11. Though she never had formal vocal or piano lessons, she found ways to develop her skills with her voice and several instruments by ear. When she was 14, Shakhanah's family relocated to Dallas, TX, and the rest is history. At the age of 21, a friend introduced her to the production team at Time Media Studios, and with their guidance, she began to cultivate her talents into a unique, quality sound. Shakhanah's debut project "Breaking Point" addresses the struggles we all encounter in life, and the rollercoaster of emotion that comes with growth. Love, pain, passion, confidence, doubt, failure, and accomplishment all play a part in cracking the past and paving the way to the future.
