While other young Hip-Hop artists make their mark with gimmicks, ring-tone songs and quickly disappear, 18 year old Trey Boog is determined to make his mark by spitting real lyrics and being the true emcee that he is. At the young age of 18, Trey has proven himself to be the young veteran being in the Hip-Hop game for 11 years strong and being one half of the Hip-Hop duo BLACK-SUNN & TREY BOOG along with his older brother Troy. He first stepped foot on stage at age 8, and since then, has never left. In his 11 year stretch, he’s had the opportunity to open for such artists as: 50 Cent, Chris Brown, Freeway, Juelz Santana, Jeezy, and Rick Ross to name a few. In November of 2006, Trey Boog appeared with his brother BLACK-SUNN on B.E.T.s 106 & Park bringing real Hip-Hop to Wild-Out Wednesday. Not only does he have the look and swagger that the industry deem as marketable, but he also has the delivery and lyrical persistence that is consistent and will be his ticket to longevity. “I was born into Hip-Hop,” says Trey. Most young artist follow trends but Trey Boog will set the trend by making marketable music for everyone to enjoy and at the same time he will introduce the youth to the one things that has been missing from the game for so long, creative lyrics and music that can be labeled as Hip-Hop classics. With one look you will compare Trey Boog to young artist like Bow Wow but once you’ve heard his flow and seen his performance, you will discover that though he has that marketability, his music speaks to a broader audience and he has the potential to sells units not based on million dollar marketing schemes but on the strength of creating good timeless music. With songs like: “I know why,” “Terrific,” and the album’s title track “T.R.E.Y.” (The Realest Ever Yet) it’s truly evident that Hip-Hop’s not dead, it was just handed down!
