We are OPUS NEX. We play heavy metal and we are going to destroy both your eardrums and your soul. Keep one eye open for us, because we will be watching you. We know where you live! And the Beast is getting hungry..... Keep it metal! The very first ideas for Opus Nex were conceived early in 2007 after two friends - Dave Phillips (guitar) and Fraser Banks (bass) - finally decided to join forces and pollute the world with some seriously filthy heavy metal. Having spent several years as jamming partners they had already developed their own distinctive style of throbbing, melodic metal. After advertising on JoinMyBand.com two recruits were found in the guise of Chris Fraser (drums) and Tom Payne (guitar). A chance meeting one hazy drunken night soon after led to the discovery of vocalist Anthony Jody Myers , and the first incarnation of Opus Nex was born. One year and three guitarists later, demon shredder Luke Durston completes the lineup. Clear a path....OPUS NEX are out for blood! Combining the dark, twisted melodies of gothic/black metal with the harsh urgency of thrash, and the epic fury of progressive death metal, Opus Nex are loud, intense and dangerously absorbing. Imagine Lamb of God, Cradle of Filth, Children of Bodom and Slayer squashed into a coffin together and left to rot in a decrepit, decaying tomb…….no wonder Opus Nex has evolved into the seething, snarling beast that stalks the Earth today.
