Pete Hopkins

Pete Hopkins was born in Aurora, Colorado and then moved around the United States until he was in fourth grade, where he settled in Seattle and began his musical journey. The talented songwriter/producer/multi-instrumentalist, sings, composes and performs on Guitar, Bass, Piano/Keyboards and Drums.

The two constants in his life have been love and music. The offspring of a loving and musical family, Pete was singing songs at age two and received his first guitar at age seven. His natural gifts for music were recognized very early on and nurtured in every way possible. Pete draws influence from a wide variety of music including The Beatles, Chemical Brothers, Garbage, Steely Dan, Miles Davis, Herbie Hancock, John Williams, Bach, Metallica, Jeff Buckley, The Doors, Jamiroquai, Joe Satriani, Al Dimeola, and Dr. Dre, to name a few

Pete was a featured local artist on 103.7 “The Mountain" while in Seattle. He was a semifinalist in the renowned “US National Songwriting Contest” and a featured artist in the VH1-sponsored promotion “Rock Across America,” and has had his music placed in film and TV, including MTV’s “Trippin’”. In 2006, he was a top-ten finalist on NBC’s “Star of Tomorrow” and was recently named a finalist in the acclaimed Independent Music Awards (IMA’s, results in 2008)

Since moving to Los Angeles in 2003, Pete has garnered impressive reviews and radio support. He plays live at top venues all over the west coast, including The Key Club, The Mint, and The Viper Room in LA, and is regarded by musicians and fans alike as a major talent poised for a lifelong successful career in music

Armed with powerful songs and an undeniable voice, Pete’s music has been proven to appeal to a wide demographic and broad range of audience. He has immersed himself in his craft, spending years studying guitar, voice, bass guitar, piano and drums. In addition to his skills as a writer, Pete is also an accomplished engineer and emerging music producer

Pete's goal is to continually write, record and perform, continuingly challenge himself to explore his heart, the hearts of others, and express this through his music. In the process he would also love to sell tons of records, go on world tours, and ultimately make a living doing what he loves to do

Pete is currently performing and promoting the independent release of his first self produced full-length album "ODD SIZE BAGGAGE” and will perform several shows at Los Angeles’ Key Club throughout the month of December, 2007
