Phly Da Boss formerly known as the "DA BOSS" (was born Brandon David Morrison August 7, 1983 in Marrero, Louisiana) to the proud parents of David Bunch and Trina Morrison. The underground artist first began rapping at the age of 9 - He grew up with neighborhood bounce legends who inspired him to carry out his music career. Producer, Henry Da Man of Take Fo' Records in New Orleans (home of local artists' such as Big Freeda, DJ Jubilee, and Choppa) being one of those people. Henry allowed Da Boss to record at his studio as needed. A Westbank Native, Da Boss lived in various areas such as: Harvey, Marrero, Westwego Avondale, and Kennedy Heights. He linked up with Caponne, founder of Black King Entertainment in 2000. Caponne made beats for various New Orleans and Westbank local artist to include 504 Boys Mr. Magic. By 2003 Da Boss had made numerous underground mixtapes and had begun to work on his second solo album - HOOD LEGEND - Phly opened up for B.G., memeber of the known New Orleans CASH MONEY MILLIONAIRES HOT BOYS group on Christmas Eve 2004 at the PALACE Theater - a show arranged by Take Fo' Records Producers.
After debuting on a hip hop Texas battle on television in 2005 - Da Boss gained more exposure. Later that year he met with J. Prince of Rap-A-Lot records - Contracts were drawn up but the deal did not turn out to be as fulfilling as thought to been - Now In 2009 Phly has started his very own record label "Imperial Records" PHLY spends a great deal of his time in foreign countries such as Dubai, UAE where he first thought to start his label...definitely history in the making!!!
