Bay Area band Plot Against Rachel pay homage to the glorious temple that is Indie Pop. Boy/girl vocals, "twinkling, carefully crafted guitar lines" and swelling choruses are all pillars in that temple, and come together to form what the Owl Mag has called "sparkling, wistful music that just might cause you to grab your heart and feel nostalgia for things that may or may not have actually happened"
Plot Against Rachel was founded the way many important things are in this new century - through an ad on Craigslist. Guitarists Brad McGowan and Ryan Berman discovered immediate musical chemistry and decided to form a band around a love of melody, careful arrangements and choice gear. Rachel Boller soon joined on keyboards and vocals, giving the band inspiration for a name and a synth-driven approach to their rhythm section’s lower octaves. Newest member Jeff Brown has added energy and depth to the rhythm section and greatly contributed to songwrighting. (You can hear the first recording of Jeff drumming with the band on Always on the Invite, one of the songs on our upcoming album.)
Plot Against Rachel released a five-song EP in March 2007 on Abandoned Love Records and is currently working on their first full-length album in Brad’s East Bay recording studio, Little Red Wagon.
