Pompeii & The Ashes is a four-piece alternative rock band from the Philadelphia area. The group consists of Eric Dorr (vocals, guitar), Lane Schneier (keyboards, bass, vocals), Sawyer Bernath (bass, guitar, vocals), and Steve Harpine (drums, percussion). Their sound is often piano-driven and focuses around alternative rock. However, the band varies their stylistic approach to fit the lyrical content of each song, leading to explorations in folk- and pop-rock. They are also often known to incorporate multiple vocal harmonies and to switch roles for different songs, changing lead singers and instruments throughout their performances and recordings.
Pompeii & The Ashes met and formed during high school, where they all played and studied together as classical and jazz instrumentalists. Though they are all currently attending separate colleges, Pompeii & The Ashes can often be found jamming out across Philadelphia and surrounding communities.
