Cocky, energetic, lively, and down to earth are just a few words that appear whenever you mention P.O.S.D. P.O.S.D. (Product of Self Destruction) were founded in Richmond, VA in the beginning of the year 2008. Two kids that went to the same high school realized that they had an interest to pursue the same craft. The band members consist of Flexx Montana (17) ,Izaak Watson(19), Meezy (17), Bebe Cabrol (17) & Wally West (17). Each artist is unique. They bring their own style and demeanor to the band. “Dude for real, our swag is just out there man and so inimitable, I mean you have one band member who’s on stage with tight acid washed jeans, a bright Polo or a tie while the other guy is comin at you gangsta wearing all black with the bandana and the baggy clothes and the other dude has the public high school swagg goin on…. No cocky- but we’re just so rare!” laughed Izaak Watson. They've performed all over their city and state from talent shows to gigs. They've received tons of awards from their performances and have not stopped yet. They've lost contests and shows too, but that just gives them the strength to get back up and keep pushing forward. These boys are dedicated and driven to make it to the top and aren't letting anything get in their way. As said before, this young group has a different style and swagger “musically” than everyone else in Richmond, "I would say we have a mix of pop, techno, and rap. We have a sound that is similar to The Pack, we dont want to be like them though, I think we’re very different from them”, explained Flexx Montana. “Yeah man we come from a city where all local artists talk about is ‘*pop, pop* kill, kill VA’s where I’m from’, I mean come on now people are getting tired of that, well I know I am so its only right that we make the ‘crack’ we make” laughed Izaak again. Coming from a State where artist like Pharrell Williams (Neptunes) and other artist like Trey Songz derive from they feel like it’s their turn to carry the torch and stand up for their state. There is a lot to come from these young artist, they are only teenagers and are making quite noise in certain places in Richmond. There will be more to come from these youngsters in the future.
