          The unique name POSIRA represents the special gift that Posira possess to incorporate Poetry, Singing, & Rapping into a Style all her own! Since June of 2009, Posira has embarked on a Poetic/Music career that would change herstory as she would ever know it...   A Boston native, At age 3 (when Posira 1st learned how to read) inspired by a Dr. Seuss book, Posira began writing & reading Poetry! In the 4th grade, Posira excelled in school with creative writing & Poetry readings. By year 2000, Posira began performing in her high school Poetry battles & school talent shows & even became a DJ on her high school Radio station WYJS 97.7 fm. On her down time, Posira was remixing songs with friends & re-writing song lyrics to music for her own personal pleasure!     In 2003, Posira met a new friend that would change her life forever. Marquis “Flame 1” Miller was an ol’ skool hip-hop artist that created a local buzz around the Boston area with cousin & producer/engineer Tramaine “SK da Greatest” Skeens. Posira was very intrigued with the Music industry & always curious about how songs & albums were actually made. Flame 1 took Posira under his wing & exposed her to studio recordings, beat production & music shows. Posira saw, at an adolescent age, that Poetry & Hip-Hop were not that different from each other, & what bridged the gap was a BEAT..!!!  After realizing this, Posira would never look at music the same way.    After graduating Lincoln Sudbury Regional High School (Sudbury MA) as a METCO student in 2004, Posira began working as a Hotel Concierge in Quincy MA. With the help of her mom & dad, Posira put herself through Medical Assisting School (Clark Univ. CCI). Sadly after 1 & a half years, Posira would then be fired from her Concierge job. A blessing in disguise, Posira was able to focus more on her school work & graduated college 2nd in her class in 2007. After graduation Posira was not offered the job she had been promised during her Medical Externship. Devastated, Posira took to the streets of Boston & began living the life of a hustler to support her & her elder mother.   By 2008, Posira couldn’t find employment with Medical Assisting & applied for Public Safety & became a Direct Care Youth Counselor for DYS for young males ages 14-21. It was here that Posira realized that music was the strongest influence amongst children & teenagers. After a year of employment with DYS, Posira soon became a Security Supervisor & would be for the next 3 years. It was here that Posira began writing lyrics for what would soon be her EP & Mixtape albums!     In October of 2009, Posira met up with an old friend from her teenage years, Marquis Miller aka Flame 1, bka "J. Flizzo". Eager to get her lyrics out & on a beat, In September of 2009, Posira began recording & co-producing her own Music with Producer/Engineer “Flame 1” (now ceo of Ill On Da Low ent). In 2010, Posira completed her 1st EP album titled "POSIRA, 1st LADY RYDAH" Produced by “SK da Greatest”, ‘Trevor Sparkxs” & Engineered by “Flame 1”.   Still a Poet at heart, Posira began performing Spoken Word Poetry as well as her music in Boston venues such as Club 360 in South Boston, Slades Bar & Grill in the South End, the Dublin House in Dorchester, #9 Ale House in Malden, Sammy's Patio in Revere, Johnson & Whales University in Providence RI, Lime Light stage + studios in Downtown, Irvyl Events & Services (IES) in Somerville, The George Dilboy Post in Jamaica Plain, & Choices Night Club in Somerville.   Follow POSIRA on Twitter! http://www.reverbnation.com/posira   POSIRA’s Websites: http://twitter.com/Posira143 http://www.Myspace.com/Posira http://www.ourstage.com/profile/posira
