Protoplanet began in 2005 when brothers Eric and Brandon Happe from Salem, OR teamed up with Steve Lauer from Vancouver, WA. They promptly set out to create an original instrumental progressive rock band. Often compared to bands as; Rush, Joe Satriani, Dream Theater, and Steve Vai, Protoplanet stands out with their blend of progressive and heavy rock. Protoplanet began in 2005 when brothers Eric and Brandon Happe from Salem, OR teamed up with Steve Lauer from Vancouver, WA. They promptly set out to create an original instrumental progressive rock band. Often compared to bands as; Rush, Joe Satriani, Dream Theater, and Steve Vai, Protoplanet stands out with their blend of progressive and heavy rock. The band has recently produced a 3 song demo that showcases their talents quite well. Protoplanet plans on playing out in the Northwest area over the summer of 2010 and then will follow up with the production of a full length album. “Protoplanet is brimming with potential.
