PtheArtist was born August 1st, 1988 in Cleveland, Ohio as David LaRoy Compton Jr. It began early in his childhood with the musical surroundings of his father who held an undying love for music, that led to the artist he is today. He began to develop his own love for music when his father taught him to play the piano at the age of 10. It was only a few years later when he lost his father that this became his motivation to begin chasing his dream while also carrying on his father’s legacy. He uses his passion, drive, dedication, and determination to do so. With the natural love and talent that he possess he’s destined to become successful in doing what he loves to do most, make music. Starting with the piano, he began writing music, rapping, singing, and producing. In fall of 2008 PtheArtist began working on his own project despite continuing to produce, and write songs for others. Recognizing his versatility it thus led to his stage name PtheArtist. As PtheArtist, David began to view music in a different light. PtheArtist is both creative and unique with incredible talent that many would only dream of having. With his strong personality and his love for music combined he can be looked upon as an inspiration to many that hold a dream within that at times may seem unattainable.
