With a full sound incorporating the swagger of old-school rock n roll with the subtleties of today's indie rock, Black Bridge is now" --------- Black Bridge was formed in the winter of 2009 as a three piece Chicago rock band. Sean Hanna (guitarist/singer/songwriter) had a catalog of songs that were calling out for a band. Hanna brought in bassist Bob Bonea who in turn brought in drummer Greg Notbusch to complete the trio. For the next few months the trio worked on transforming Hanna’s mostly acoustic songs into full-blown rock songs. It was at this time the band self-produced their first demo entitled “Lucky 7” which was handed out to friends and family in the Summer of 2010 to spread the word. Once the material was in place it was time to add the missing pieces. In the fall of 2010 Tony Manfedi was brought in as a second guitarist to fill in the gaps. Manfredi and Hanna quickly realized their rhythm and lead styles naturally complimented each other and it was decided that they would share both duties. Shortly afterwards, Dan Wilcutts was brought in to bang on the Keys and lock up the rhythm section of the band. The band continued with this lineup until the Winter of 2011 when Notbusch left the band due to personal reasons. Shortly after Notbusch’s departure, the band hit the studio to record their official debut album with fill-in drummer Frank Iffland. They recorded 8 tracks with Matt Mercado behind the board at Sonic Palace studio. Meanwhile the band’s search for a permanent replacement drummer took them into the summer of 2012 at which point they finally found the guy they were looking for in Jack Brown. With all the pieces back together again the band focused on completing their new album and booking shows to support it. On September 9th 2012, the band released their debut EP “Black Bridge”. Black Bridge is now a five piece rock 'n roll band on a mission to turn you on. While individually the members of this band are nothing new to the Chicago music scene, Black Bridge is just starting to make their presence known. The music that Black Bridge plays is original, new, and full of emotion yet it has a feeling of familiarity, like an old friend that you see again after a long absence.
