Detroit based pianist, talkboxer and producer, Walter “HAZMAT-TALKBOX” Howard, a.k.a “Haz-Mat” has been blending hypnotic beats and tantalizing sounds effortlessly for more than a decade.  He is currently working on multiple solo projects one of which will showcase his wildly blend of House and Techno.  Other projects will focus on soulful R&B with a fusion of Jazz and Funk that reveals Haz-Mat’s unyielding command over various musical styles.    Haz-Mat’s talkboxing abilities have already become a You-Tube sensation garnering more than 460,000 views and positive reviews from fans all over the world.  As a result, UK artist the Brooke’s Brothers requested for Haz-Mat to be the featured talkboxer on their hit “Loveline”.  It has been said that Haz-Mat has single handedly started a Talkbox Movement.  Haz-Mat takes pride in personally crafting his music from “scratch” from the bass lines, to the beats, to the melody and looks for every opportunity to reinvent the musical wheel.  The production of Haz-mat is featured on the smash hit album from O.T.I.S. (OUT-THERE-IN-SPACE) called ” FIRST CONTACT”.    Haz-mat attributes much his musical inspiration from artists such as Luther Vandross, Earth, Wind and Fire, and Parliament Funkadelic.  After spending his early years being self-taught, Haz-mat was afforded the opportunity to further is musical education at the Detroit High School for the Fine and Performing Arts as an instrumental and vocal major.  He has had the privilege of working with famed artists such as, Mr. Porter from D12, Kenny Flav, Bilal, Mesa, Phil Perry, Eric Robinson and Rahsaan Patterson.  He has also done production work for The Game’s 2006 release “Fly You Around the World” and Mary J Blige’s 2000 “Mary J’s Testimony”.  He worked most recently with Detroit-based, saxophonist, Shelby Brown, Grammy nominee K’JON, Charlie Wilson and The Spinners.  Haz-Mat is currently touring with the infamous FourTops.  Fans will be refreshed with Haz-Mat’s upcoming record, which brings along with it a new perspective of how we use sound and rhythm to convey this thing we call music.
