“Hookier than a bass tournament.” – Dan Barry, The Hartford Advocate "The mix of fuzzy, beautiful guitar and some of the personality of acoustic rock - not to mention the terrific vocals - is one that is heady, hooky and not to be missed." - A&R Select Described as being “bold and professional” by Dan Barry from The Hartford Advocate, 21 year old Rachel Carson showcases a signature alternative sound. With influences such as The Wreckers, Hanson and Sheryl Crow, it’s no wonder her music is said to be “hookier than a bass tournament.” Although, writing catchy tunes hadn’t always been a simple task for this up and coming artist. Growing up in the small town of Ellington, Connecticut, where the cows once out-numbered the citizens, Rachel always knew she wanted to make a difference in someone’s life. With that in mind, she writes lyrics that are raw and honest and states that, “If the music I write touches the listener in any way, whether it be the melody catching their ear or the lyrics helping them get through a situation, then I’ve accomplished what I always strive to do.” She started to write songs at the age of eleven when she first learned how to play the guitar. After being in numerous bands and having only one of them stay together for five years, Rachel fronted the band, Final Fall, and began recording at the age of sixteen. Within four years, the band released three demos and a live and acoustic cd to benefit victims of Hurricane Katrina. After deciding to go solo in 2006, Rachel now continues to support the community by way of music, perform for numerous benefit events including, support for Hurricane Katrina victims, and The March of Dimes.
