Well, the buzz is there - his latest release 'Kyoto Nights' recently climbed to 4 on The Buzz Chart. Ran draws on his unique ability to tweak just the right knobs and get fat hooky bass riffs, in a way that makes everyone in the room think he was born doing it. Combined with his love for pop, what the listener gets is an experience that causes heads to bop involuntarily, reviewers to suddenly be having a good day, and audiences wanting more.
