R.A.P.P. Quelle stands for “Revered Automatic Powerful Poet”. The young and ambitious artist who describes his music as “everybody's music that everyone can feel and get in touch with” has been into music for 8 years. Growing up in Nassau, Bahamas, where he was born, R.A.P.P. Quelle nourished his love for music from a young age and still has a special love for old music by artists such as Nina Simone and bass player Jaco Pastorius. The young artist started taking his music seriously after he graduated from high school, but was exposed to a lot of music as a child by his parents. R.A.P.P. Quelle, who sees his music as a representation of the globalized world, is focusing primarily on hip hop music, however, has written for projects in other various music genres. After a short leave he returned to the studio, inspired by artists such as Talib Kwele, an artist who R.A.P.P. Quelle sees as an essential core and root of what Hip Hop is and stands for while evolving and changing with time. As a person he has always had an admiration for Mahatma Ghandi. Ghandi's philosophies have had an influence on his life and his ideals often balance out R.A.P.P. Quelle’s music, which, in the contrary to the pacifist Ghandi, is often more aggressive. Releasing a world-wide hit "80's Back" in the fall of 2008, his name became well known in the Bahamas but he did not stop there. He followed the hit single with a mixtape"Gorilla In Tims" released in early 2009 and allowed the buzz to have fans and Hip Hop heads begging for more. With his name increasing in popularity and performing at shows, R.A.P.P. Quelle decided to give them more with the release of "Abstract Art: Quelle's World Volume 1" in mid spring of 2010. R.A.P.P. Quelle is currently writing and working on his next follow-up project, after releasing two music videos for the songs "Get Used To It" and "Great Base". R.A.P.P. Quelle's love is definitely live performances and his focus is to impact lives with music, the way it has impacted his. R.A.P.P. Quelle says he is “very proud to be part of this time and generation”, a new generation of artists who have the chance to take the music to another level and gain worldwide recognition. With lines like "it's hall of fame music, i'm trying to make artifacts", he strives for longevity in music and his ultimate goal of becoming one of the greats in Hip Hop.
