Raw Diamond was started in the autumn 2008 by Fredrik Elm and Josef Mineur who just quit their former band "Eternal Life". They decided to both do the singing and guitarplaying and they found a drummer and a bassist in Linus Nordermark and Joakim Elm. Raw Diamond was started in the autumn 2008 by Fredrik Elm and Josef Mineur who just quit their former band "Eternal Life". They decided to both do the singing and guitarplaying and they found a drummer and a bassist in Linus Nordermark and Joakim Elm. The idea was from the biginning to play hard-rock/heavy metal and now they've landed somewhere between Glam/Sleaze and Power/Heavy metal. The band worked hard from the start and there was a quick result. They participated in the swedish music contest "Musik Direkt" and advanced to district final. In another swedish culture contest called "UKM" the band took it even further and went allt the way to the national festival. They also played a very special and succesful gig on the birthday of the swedish celebrity Owe Thörnqvist. The gig took place in a sold out Musikens Hus in Uppsala and the band kicked ass in front of 1100 people. Ever since the start in 2008, the band have performed live constantly. There's two completely own-produced Demos released. The first one is called "This is how it started" and it was released in the spring 2009. It contains following songs: 1. The Rock 2. Anyway 3. Living ain't no crime 4. Hard Rock Revolution 5. Hey You! The Second one, which is much more well produced, is called "75% Raw Diamond" and was released the 28th august. It contains following songs: 1. Starchaser 2. Shout at the world 3. Deadline 4. It Depends on You During the upcoming autumn and spring, the band will probobly start working on yet another record.
