RED BELLOWS is an ambient/progressive rock quartet from Boston, MA. Officially formed in the spring of 2009, RED BELLOWS is the result of several major musical changes that lead singer/keyboardist Marc Pellegrino and guitarist Sean McDermott went through while in college together. As the overall sound of the band developed, the lineup changed with the addition of drummer, Don Taylor, renewing the focus on delivering an energetic, dynamic and passionate live performance. After several months of writing as a trio, the band brought on the last, yet certainly not least addition to the group, bassist Jim Haney, who contacted the band shortly after moving to Boston. The final lineup allowed the band to articulate the sound that they all had been hearing. Always looking for something new to add to their music and continuously experimenting with different instrumentations, RED BELLOWS find inspiration from bands like The Mars Volta, Margot and the Nuclear So and So's, Envy On The Coast and Mute Math. With a dynamic and ever evolving style, the band has started playing in venues all around Boston, from the Middle East and PA’s Lounge, to the Great Scott and Cafe 939. The anticipated release of their EP in the winter of 2011 calls for a trip to the SXSW music festival in March as well as additional shows in the Northeast and a summer tour.
