Upon your first listen to the debut CD titled “It’s Time” by artist Richard Michael, it will be very clear that his unique style of music can’t be placed in a box or one general category alone. The album “It’s Time,” also known as “The Rick Michael Project” blends Rick’s unique style of music which he describes as a fresh new approach to country & rock with a hint of Latin flare. Rick was born in Detroit, MI where he played in a couple of bands, including the band he formed in high school called Anthem just a few years after teaching himself to play the guitar in the sixth grade . After high school Rick played in a couple more bands before joining the military where he spent time in a few different states, including Colorado before eventually settling in South Carolina where currently lives. It wasn’t long before Rick realized that after being in various bands, his true calling was to be a solo artist based on his ability to write songs that could really hit home with & move his audience. It was that kind of motivation that inspired the song “Death of a Legend,” which is a song from his debut album that indirectly pays respect to the legendary Michael Jackson.
