Ricko aka No.1 Draft PickDerricko “Ricko” Swink first received radio airplay in 2002 with his hit single "Get That Paper". He has been featured on The Raw Report (vol. 5) with hip-hop stars such as Rick Ross, Young Buck, Rich Boy and others (4/10/07), PowerSource Entertainment mix cds “Streets and Sheets”, vol. 1, 2 & 3. Ricko wrote the intro song, "I Love 107.9" for Atlanta's Hot 107.9 radio personality, DJ Redd. Ricko’s smash hit, "I Love Bein From Da Souf", was featured on DJ Emperor Searcy’s (BME/Hot 107.9) mix cd. He has also worked with Cash Money Producer, Deezle (best known for producing Lil' Wayne's hit single, Lollipop). In 2007, Ricko founded Musik Mogul Incorporated and was named President and CEO. Recently he unveiled Project Sincere, a youth and community outreach program that offers support to nonprofit organizations through mentoring and tutoring youth. Ricko recently released his biggest single to date entitled, "Bring Another Bottle" featuring Rob D. With production credits going to The ILL Genius this record is sure to have the entire world in a frenzy, and has already been featured on DJ Green Lantern's "Myspace Invasion 5" Mix CD most notably for releasing mixtapes with Jadakiss and Nas. "This is definitely a honor to be featured on the arguably hottest dj (Green Lantern) in the game right now cd," says Ricko. His latest project, a street sampler entitled, Season Of A Hustla was released July 28th 2009 and he is currently working on a new mixtape with Dirty Beatz Muzic called "Warning Shotz" slated to release New Years Day. In addition to music Ricko has ventured into television as the co-host of Mixtape-TV with DJ Steen and DJ Shadow, which airs in Anniston (AL) , Montgomery (AL) , Birmingham (AL) and Atlanta (GA) interviewing major artists such as Dj Khaled, Ace Hood, Lil' Boosie, Trina, Cadillac Don, Big Pimp (Dirty), Jackie Chain, B-Hamp & more. In 2008, he launched wwwRickoWorldWide.com, headlined The Memorial Day Weekend Concert Bash and released the highly praised mixtape, I Am The Anedote chapters 1-7 , hosted by The ILL Genius. The self proclaimed “Spokesman for Alabama”, has vowed to put AL on the map. Influenced by hip-hop icons, Outkast and DMX, Ricko promoted himself to open for T.I., Jim Crowe and Free (former 106 & Park co-host) in the Total U Tour. Since 2006, Ricko has performed with artists like Young Dro, Oh So Crispie, Khujo Goodie, S-Dub, Gucci Mane, Brooke Valentine, Pastor Troy, DJ Unk, Baby D, Yola Da Great, The Last Mr. Bigg, Mr. Mudd and Citty. In 2007, Ricko ripped the mic at Fort Valley State University with Bohagun, JR Get Money, Roy Jones, Jr., and Hurricane Chris. During the National Black Arts Festival in Huntsville, AL, June, 2007, Ricko performed with J. Holiday, Bone Crusher, Maceo, The Alliance and Baby Huey. Other artists he has opened for are OJ da Juiceman and Yung Ralph. Ricko has performed at various venues in South Carolina, North Carolina, Alabama, Indiana, Texas, Florida, Tennessee, Mississippi, and Georgia. He also held it down at DJ Aaries' Hood Hard TV as part of the "Alabama Takeover" in Atlanta, GA which aired in 8 cities. Today, Ricko recently organized the 1st Annual concert called Summer Jam for his hometown of Anniston, AL that went down this May 30th; sponsored through his Musik Mogul, Inc. imprint along with others. Artists from all over the country hit the stage. Publications Crunk Magazine recently interviewed Ricko which will be out soon. KishezJuices.com and HipHopGossipByRanda.com have featured Ricko in their hip-hop artist spotlight sections. In an article published by The Anniston Star newspaper, (7/17/08), Ricko discussed the history and discography of his Musik Mogul movement. The exclusive interview with Deidre Long, invites readers to a day in the life of the No.1 Draft Pick. From his debut album, Trademark (3/07) to his mix cd Made in Alabama (4/07) to V.I. Pimpin Remix featuring Gotti (formerly with Cash Money Records) and PSE label-mate Kalako, Ricko has fueled the flames from the fire that was lit in him at age of 16. The original version of the single received rave reviews from DJs in the east and southeast coasts, as well as DJ’s in Spain, Germany, Belgium, the United Kingdom, and other countries in Europe, Asia and Africa, birthing the site Ricko World Wide. In addition V.I. Pimpin Remix was in the Top 20 on 7 different radio stations in Canada. The pre-release of the single won Best Bass in Hip Hop in January 2006. The remix version was also in the Top 50 playlist on the rap station at American Idol Underground’s website, April 2006. It also charted on New York's S.U.R.E. Record Pool’s Hot Off The Press Chart as the No. 1 new single.
