Alabama’s own, Ricko a.k.a. The No. 1 Draft Pick (PowerSource Entertainment hip-hop recording artist), is leading a new World-Wide Movement with his Trademark sound. Reppin’ the A.L. like no other artist before him, Ricko is the self-proclaimed “Spokesman for Alabama” who has vowed to put A.L. on the map. Rapping since the age of 16, Ricko has been influenced by hip-hop icons Outkast and DMX. His trademark voice, however, is a distinctive style of his own which leaves a lasting impression, incomparable to none. A true hustla, Ricko started recording at age 18, and first received some college radio airplay with his independent single "Get That Paper" at Jacksonville State University in Jacksonville, Alabama while he was not even signed to a record label! A self-promoting machine, Ricko hustled his way into opening up for T.I., Jim Crowe and Free from 106 & Park in the Total U Tour. Since 2006, Ricko has performed with Are You The Girl’s Oh So Crispie, Khujo Goodie, S-Dub, Young Dro, and Gucci Mane in Atlanta; he opened for Brooke Valentine in Huntsville, AL; and he got the crowd crunk and ready for Pastor Troy, DJ Unk, Baby D, Yola da Great, The Last Mr. Bigg, Mr. Mudd and Ciity in Gadsden, AL. In 2007, Ricko has also ripped the mic at Fort Valley State University with Bohagun, JR, Roy Jones, Jr., and Hurricane, and he stood tall among the likes of Plies, B.O.B., Alfa Mega, and others at T. I.’s Club Crucial in Atlanta. At the National Black Arts Festival in Huntsville, Alabama in June, 2007, Ricko performed with J. Holiday, Bone Crusher, Maceo, Hurricane, The Alliance and Baby Huey. Ricko has also performed in Greenville, SC; Blackstock, SC; Montgomery, AL; Birmingham, AL, Gadsden, AL; Anniston, AL; Charlotte, NC; and numerous other venues in Atlanta, Georgia. Ricko’s smash hit, I Love Bein From Da Souf, was featured on Atlanta’s Hot 107.9 DJ Emperor Searcy’s Mix CD in March, 2007. Ricko is also featured on The Raw Report, Vol. 5, to be released on April 10, 2007. Ricko’s presence is also heavily felt on Volumes 1 and 2 of the PowerSource Entertainment “Streets and Sheets” Mix CDs, which have been distributed along the east coast from New York to the Atlanta, Georgia, and Ricko’s own mix CD, Made in Alabama, will hit the streets in mid-April, 2007. V.I. Pimpin Remix featuring Gotti (formerly with Cash Money Records) and PSE label-mate Kalako, is the lead single from Ricko’s debut album, Trademark, which hit the streets and the stores in March, 2007. The flip side, I Love Bein From Da Souf has become the new Dirty South anthem, which features Charlotte, NC’s own, Royal Tee. The original version of V.I. Pimpin received rave reviews from DJs in the Southeast and East Coast, as well as DJ’s in Spain, Germany, Belgium, the United Kingdom, and other countries in Europe, Asia and Africa. Ricko’s V.I. Pimpin was in the Top 20 on 7 different radio stations in Canada as of May, 2006, and the pre-release of the single won Best Bass in Hip Hop in January, 2006. V. I. Pimpin was also in the Top 50 playlist on the rap station at American Idol Underground’s website in April, 2006 at www.idolunderground.com! V.I. Pimpin also charted on S.U.R.E. Record Pool’s Hot Off The Press Chart as the No. 1 new single in April, 2006. In addition to producing Ricko’s smash singles, PSE staff producer, The ILL Genius, produced most of the Trademark album. Trademark also features tracks produced by Liptunes Music Productions’ front man, Malik Williams, who has worked with mega-stars Britney Spears, Backstreet Boys, Jordan Knight, and others. PSE Staff Producer, E-Hustle, also contributed his “crunk & screwed” tracks to the success and sound of Trademark. Not willing to settle for anything less, expect to see Ricko and hear his exclusive style everywhere as he blazes up the industry with his trademark sound! Soon everyone will see why Ricko is the No. 1 Draft Pick!
