In an industry prone to categorizing everyone and everything, Rob Byer creates a quandary for any music lover or critic. Is he a gifted songwriter, with songs that touch on many emotions? Is he one of the best entertainers to hit the scene in years? Is he Country, Pop or Southern Rock? Rob Byer is all of these and quite frankly…he LIKES it that way!! Some have suggested that Byer’s music is “Country Pop” or “Blue Collar Country”. It’s the storyteller of John Mellencamp, the country pop sensibility of Keith Urban or Kenny Chesney, the raw rock influence of Lynard Skynard and the stage show and energy of Kid Rock. Rob knows that playing in front of as many people as he can is the only way to spread the word about him and his music, so that’s what he does!! He has traveled over seas to play for our men and women serving this great country through the USO and Armed Forces Entertainment. Rob has played crowded bars, headlined college events and has sung The National Anthem at Oriole Park at Camden Yards. He has opened for many National country stars such as Keith Urban, Chris Cagle, Sugarland, Charlie Daniels, Gary Allen, Leanne Rimes, Big & Rich and Brooks & Dunn. Most recently Rob won Kenny Chesney’s “Next Big Star”, which allowed him the opening slot on Kenny’s Poets & Pirates Tour at M&T Bank Stadium in front of his hometown crowd in Baltimore, MD in May of 2008. Anyone that sees Rob’s show is immediately a loyal fan. When Byer talks about performing he states…“That’s where the rubber meets the road…that’s where we (him and his band) lay it all on the line and give 110%!”…ON STAGE…That is where he belongs! You will leave Rob’s show wanting more and waiting for the next time you can catch him… You may also visit www.robbyer.com for pictures, schedules and any updates.
