Rob Barnard was born in Waycross, GA on Feb. 25, 1976. He tributes the nurturing of his gift for song writing and performing to his Uncle Robert Lane. His Uncle Robert inspired him to be thankful of his talent and to take it seriously as a profession, opposed to a hobby. Raised a southern gentleman, Rob played piano in church as well as performing in the church chior and later becoming music director. Always impressed with country music, Rob decided to branch out and try his hand at writing country lyrics. The more he wrote the more passionate he became about his music. Then in 1994 and 1995 he found himself living what makes so many great country songs...heart break and divorce. This time in his life only added fuel to the already talented fire he posessed for songwriting. In 1998 however, Rob's life took on another point of inspiration when he married a sweet southern country girl by the name of Jewel Taylor. Rob knows that the band scene is a crucial stepping stone for any musician's career. Once a part of Southern Blend, Rob learned to be a successful performer you have to make your audience feel the passion in your song. Whether it be to laugh, to cry or to fall in love all over again, your audience needs to live the story in the song. This fact was even more confirmed when at the founder's day festival in Nicholls, GA. the mayor made a point on sharing many compliments he recieved on the band. Rob now resides in Webster County, West Virginia and is working with Tim Wright of Mountain Music Management and Bookings. Rob is a well rounded artist with his own soulful style of country and southern rock. "There comes a time in a man's life when he picks one dream and settles down to make it a reality"-Ben Cartwright (Bonanza) A Nashville career is the dream Rob has settled down with and is sure the dues that he has paid and has yet to pay will result in this dream becoming his reality.
