Rocstar discovered his love of music and discovered his voice in the dirty south rapping over Master P tape cassette instrumentals when he moved to Georgia at 7. Having a single parent meant that Rocstar had to fend for himself at an early age. Between living with his Grandmother, who is his heart and inspiration but also coming up on the streets west LA, Rocstar developed a warrior’s spirit that is an unmistakable characteristic of his music. The streets of West Blvd and Adams became Rocstar’s family. It was at Crenshaw High where Rocstar met his best friend and accomplice, Tiny Kay Kay. Rocstar’s passion for music and loyalty to family doesn’t go unnoticed. Since age 11 Rocstar has been recording in the studio. For Rocstar’s upcoming album, Enemy of the Industy, he worked with several hot producers. DJ Shway provided beats for Rocstar’s mixtape and beats for his upcoming album. In 2005 Rocstar headed back to Arizona to capitalize on the growing rap scene. Rocstar’s work ethic is second to none. If he isn’t in the studio (Rocstar has over 100 songs) then he is performing (has done more than 50 shows). The mix tape “The West is Back” flooded the streets of Las Vegas, Los Angeles and Phoenix. Rocstar is blends his LA upbringing with influences from Kurrupt, CJ Mac, his God Brother Monk McNasty and Ludacris. His west coast ties along with the Phoenix connection means Rocstar is constantly working with new artists and producing fresh tracks. Along with Monk McNasty and E. plurb the 3rd, Rocstar raps in California based group Homeboy Network. Phoenix artist, B.C. collaborates regularly with Rocstar with their group Crippin Cousins representing Phx City Entertainment. Rocstar is commonly asked how old he is not just because of the ferocity of his voice but because his knowledge of life. Being wise beyond his years does come with a price. On January 29th, 2008 his best friend Ronald “Tiny Kay Kay” Boone Jr. was shot after the LAPD mistakenly shot him thinking he had a gun when he was unarmed. Once again Rocstar’s warrior spirit drives him to overcome and persevere like the survivor he is. Rocstar launched Bully Records in 2008, working with top shelf producers like Mr. West Adams from his hood, Mo Carey from Fairfield in the Bay Area, Catfish from AZ and Mark Sparkxx.
