Ron Lutrick was born in the small town of Columbia, Louisiana. He was raised in a house filled with music from his mother, Audie Belle singing, and his father, G.W. Lutrick, who played guitar and sang country and blues. Ron loved listening to his father's own radio show that featured old time gospel favorites. Ron followed in true family tradition by singing in church at a very early age. It did not take long for the family to realize his true vocal talents and love of music. At age fourteen, Ron made his country music debut on the legendary "Louisiana Hayride". He later formed his first country band, "The Desperados", who backed such artists as Jack Greene, Shoji Tabuchi, Norvel Phelps, and Joe Stampley. They soon gained the respect of Hoss Logan of the Hayride and he was kind enough to write a personal plug on their first album jacket. At a performance with Jack Greene, Ron was offered the opportunity to move to Nashville...Music City, USA ! Oviously, he jumped at the chance with huge aspirations in his heart. Nashville welcomed Ron with open arms and he soon became a highly respected session player, vocalist, and live performer throughout Music City. As time passed, Ron could be found on the historic "Grand Ole' Opry" with such greats as Del Reeves, Ronnie Milsap, Dave Dudley, Johnny Russell, Billy Walker, and many others. He was also an active member in the house band at the famous Gabe's Lounge. As Nashville changed and the music scene grew, Ron moved down to lower Broadway to play at the historic Robert's Western World as bassist for the Don Kelley Band. It was an easy fit as Don and Ron had been friends for many years and shared a common love of good, real, country music and the blues. In 1998 Ron had the pleasure of meeting the great talent, Johnny Hiland. They quickly connected, playing for The Don Kelley Band. Soon their relationship flourished and they became a musical force to be reckoned with. Hiland was offered and accepted a deal with Favored Nations, Steve Vai's label, and he needed to move from the Nashville scene. Johnny and Ron vowed to hook up again with their own band to present their unique style of music. Finally in 2008 they became reunited as best friends and thus was born the incredible band "Blues Connection" Luckily for his fans Ron still likes nothing better than rockin' the local stages. Often you can catch him as a featured guest performer with the house band at The World Famous Nashville Palace.
