The youngest of three brothers, Ryan Lindsey grew up in the small town of Stillwater, Oklahoma. With money saved from his paper route, Ryan bought a bass guitar and joined his older brothers in the band Kids Eat Free. When his siblings moved away to college he was asked to join Cheyenne and later the Starlight Mints. He continues to record and perform with both bands to this day. Ryan moved to Norman for his college years at the University of Oklahoma and in 2006 began work on his solo debut White Paper Beds. Legendary composer, arranger, producer Van Dyke Parks heard the finished product and introduced Ryan to the president of Bug Music. When he saw Ryan in concert at SXSW in 2007, David Hirshland signed Ryan to a publishing deal. KCRW in Los Angeles began playing Ryan’s music and Chris Douridas, seminal music supervisor and host of New Ground, used two of Ryan’s songs in the Sundance Award Winning motion picture American Teen. His songs have also been heard on One Tree Hill and the CBS TV show Welcome To The Captain.
