The Ryan Sisters have been singing together for several years and have been impressing people everywhere they sing with their heartfelt performances. After Lauretta came down with a life threatening disease called Guillain Barré Syndrome in June, 1995 which paralyzed her entire body, they decided to pursue their dream as they realized that life is too short to let your dreams pass you by. Together with Lauretta’s positive attitude, visualization techniques, determination, faith and family support she was the fastest recovering GBS patient to leave the Nova Scotia Rehabilitation Centre.
With nothing working in her body except her mind, she contributes her fast recovery to her constant visualizations of being completely healed and of walking across the stage with a microphone in her hand. She listened to music 24 hours a day while recovering, which helped to inspire her and once she was able, she would sing as much as she could which helped to strengthen her diaphragm, thereby helping her breathing, which significantly sped up her healing.
In 2006 they watched the movie “The Secret” and both instantly became inspired and realized that their vision is to inspire the world with their story and the important message that we all have unlimited power within us to create the life we’ve always dreamed of! Everyone should always follow their heart and never give up on their dreams making sure to believe beyond a shadow of a doubt that you have what it takes to make your dreams come true!
During the movie “The Secret”, the story of the “Miracle Man” brought Lauretta to tears as she was known as the “Miracle Child” and she had flashbacks of her illness and recovery. The similarities of their paralysis was overwhelming, and how they could both only use their mind to visualize their complete recovery. The similarities of their stories really hit home for Lauretta and she actually felt as though she was reliving her illness and recovery. The inspiring words of their song, “There’s A Secret” started to flow out of Lauretta and the song began its journey with many inspirational songs, including their newest song, Live In Inspiration, that followed and will be on their upcoming CD.
