About Samantha Collins
Keenesburg, CO
Hello, I'm Samantha....."If I can sing a song and put a smile on somebody's face....well, then I've done what I set out to do." My name is Samantha Collins. I was born in Denver in 1981 to my parents Mike and Dottie. I have lived in Colorado my whole life and I am not a big fan of the snow and cold weather but…it’s home. I am a single mom to an awesome 7 year old named Bret and he is the greatest gift ever. We are definitely buddies. He is the one person who can always put a smile on my face. I grew up in Keenesburg, CO and graduated from Weld Central High School in 2000. I spent all 4 years in the select honor choir, and also lettered all 4 years in volleyball….my 2 greatest loves. (People not included. LOL) I played competitive volleyball for about 9 years and now I’m in my 9th year of coaching. I absolutely love what I do. Since then I’ve started a karaoke business with my dad because I wanted to be home during the day with my son. It was then I really realized how much I really enjoyed singing for people. Music is one thing that has always been special to me. I love how a song can bring back a special memory, make your mood better, get you pumped up, or sometimes you might just want to relax to something mellow. I have always liked singing. The way it feels to tell a story through a song and have an audience respond….there’s almost nothing like it. So, I was working as a bartender one day during the rodeo and we happened to have a band playing. I asked the singer if he would listen to my cd and let me know what he thought. The next day he asked me to sing a song or two with them, and wow was that a rush? I kept in touch with that man who happens to be a Nashville recording artist and producer. He helped me find some original music and away we went. By November, I was in Nashville recording my first record with world renowned musicians and songwriters behind me. What a feeling! With the support I have had from my family and friends, this experience has been magical. I am so thankful to have them all because none of this would have been possible without them.
