I'm sixteen years young and I am a singer/songwriter.
In my short span of living, I've discovered my love for many things. Sports, art, writing, theatre, friends, etc. As the seasons change so do my prefences. For a month I wanted to be doctor, then a journalist, then a lawyer. A little while later and everyone is asking me what am i going to persue in college. What am i going to do for the rest of my life? While my ideas are all over the place, I've came to the conclusion that the one true thing i will always love to do is write and play and sing my own music.
My composing of music started when i was probably about seven or so. Like every other little girl in the world, I wanted to be a pop star. I wrote and sang. Few years later, i began my first guitar lesson. Due to finicial matters- they were short-lived. I taught myself the basics but for the majority i just play what i feel even if such chords don't exist. I later taught myself piano which you will probably see venturing out into my music at some point.
Music was not always easy for me. In middle school i was bullied daily for my love for singing and playing. There were hate pages made claiming i couldnt sing and at every talent show i performed in came youtube videos of my classmates mocking me. One said i looked like a monkey. Discouraged , i took 3 years off from music. I was convinced by others that i was no good.
Recently, ive began singing and writing again and my friends adore my music. So i thought maybe you guys would like it too?
