One of the most on point, raw spittin artists in Baltimore, coming straight out of the west side of the city, is 21 year old Savage Da Beast! Savage Da Beast has made his name known battling toe to toe with some of the best in Baltimore Hip Hop history, and from his initial appearances on the Mixtape Legend DVDs - volumes 2.5, 3.0, and 3.5! Soon after Savage thought his initial exposure from the mixtape release was dying down, Shaka Pitts (Baltimore artist, engineer, producer, and radio show host) put him on 92 Q's "Tuesday Night Fights"! Savage Da Beast battled and won four weeks without being touched! He has continued to strive and succeed at making a name for himself in the DMV! In 2008, Savage took home the crown as the 2008 MC Battle Champion for the "Show Me What You Got" and "295 Heat Battlefield Ground Zero" competitions held annually in Baltimore, Maryland.
Savage Da Beast has been an opening act performer for several chart topping artists such as, the dirty souths' own T.I, Slim Thug, Keisha Cole, and Three 6 Mafia. He has also shared the stage with Floetry, Trey Songz, Juelz Santana and Jim Jones, as well, and has performed at a host of local shows throughout Maryland, DC, New York, and Virginia. He recently performed at "The Island Cafe" in DC and headlined in NYC at the infamous "Pyramid Club", home of "End of the Weak", which is the longest running hip hop event in NYC and abroad.
When speaking in terms of peer respect and sheer jaw-dropping skill, Savage Da Beast is No. 1 to many people on the scene, and for good reason! On records such as the recent mixtape "Welcome 2 Da Jungle - Vol. 1" , that's circulating underground, Savage is never a subdued presence, as he barrels through punch line after punch line! If someone hands him the mic at a show, odds are he's not going to give it up until he has ripped the show in half!
Competing in New York City, in the World Famous MTV's "Monday Night Fight Klub" rap battle competition, showed Savage that he definitely had what it takes to be a battle rapper and a songwriter with the ability to compose bars mainstream enough for radio. His battling résumé is so tight, rumor has it there are some ciphers he's not allowed to compete in anymore, because it just wouldn't be fair! Due to drop his debut single "Fresh 2 Def" (I Feel Like A Million Bucks) in April, 2009, and album "Gorilla Status" by late Summer, 2009!
