The story began in Valdosta, Georgia. At the age of seven, the child that would eventually be known as Scar Dirty was involved in a car accident that nearly claimed his life. Rushed to South Georgia Medical Center, Scar Dirty clung to life as doctors performed plastic surgery on a large portion of his forehead. The physical scars eventually healed, but by the age of 12, they were replaced by the emotional scars caused by witnessing his father beat his mother. The abuse began to affect every aspect of Dirty's life. He began to self destruct; failing classes, getting into fights, even considering suicide. His mother attempted to save his life by placing him and his brother in a group camp that allowed them to talk about their problems with child psychologists. The program appeared to be working but a year later, Dirty slipped back into a rut. His father was continually in and out of the prison system, and continued to take his aggression out on Dirty's mother. To escape his world of turmoil and adversity, Scar Dirty picked up a pen and began to write about his problems. He started with poems which later turned into songs. As time went on, his life became a never-ending supply of song material - he never needed to exaggerate. Eventually his mother and father would separate, freeing her of the abuse she had endured for so many years. On August 25th, 2000, Scar Dirty received news that could at best be called bittersweet. His father was found lying dead in his apartment. It was his birthday… from this point on he called himself Scar, because of the emotional and physical scars that life has left on him.Growing up in a small community where everyone played sports, worked, or went to the armed forces after high school didn't sit well with Scar, but saying that he wanted to be a rapper didn't fit well with everyone else. His peers simply laughed when he spoke of what he wanted to do with his life. But he couldn't blame them as Valdosta had never had anybody make it out the hood doing music. Scar Dirty decided that he would dedicate the rest of his life proving those people wrong. At the age of 16 he dropped out of high school because he felt like it wasn’t teaching him what he needed to know in order to be successful in the rap industry. He could already read, write, add and subtract, so he quit school to focus solely on his music. Day after day, Scar Dirty would write new songs, crafting his work to express his deep, dark world for the whole city to hear. Influenced by Master P and 50 cent, Dirty has taken the stories of his life and attempted to write music from the heart; music that has been influenced by the events that have unfolded during the course of his own life. Years have gone by, and Scar Dirty still finds escape through his music. Since then Scar has opened for Lil Webbie, Pastor Troy, Nappy Roots, Big Kountry Kane, Trick Daddy , Goodie Mob and Multi. He has worked with Freeway from Rockafella Records, Fish Scales of The Group Nappy Roots, and Witch Doctor Of The Infamous Goodie Mob etc: Scar has even been in Source Magazine and Hiphop Weekly several times.
