Scott Katsura & Elena Vogt: “A Story of Perfect Timing and Destiny” This is a story of perfect timing and destiny. One fateful summer day, Elena Vogt, a native of New Jersey was about to text message a dear friend who was on his way to a dream vacation in Hawai’i. The message read: “Have a great time in Hawai’i, please send me a pineapple, lol!” Apparently, Elena dialed the wrong phone number by one digit, and instead, sent the text message to Scott Katsura, a native son of Hawai’i who relocated years ago to his new residency in Manhattan. As Scott read this humorous text message sent from the unknown number, especially knowing that it was the wrong timing from when Scott usually took his annual Hawai’i trip back home visiting his family and friends, he replied in text to this unknown number, “I just got back from Hawai’i three months ago! I won’t be there for another eight months… So if you can wait, I will send you the pineapple (lol!) when I’m visiting home again, btw… who is this?” Baffled by the contents of Scott’s reply, in addition to knowing that her dear friend also lived in New Jersey for his entire life, Elena answered back, “Yeah right! Keep on dreaming baby… Call me!” And so he did… Scott dialed this unknown number wondering who’d be answering on the other end. The rest is history, as they say. This uncanny encounter of fate was the beginning of a musical partnership shared by two amazingly talented and compassionate singers – one from the Pacific Ocean and the other from the shores of the Atlantic. Soon after, a trusting friendship between Scott and Elena was formed online. On a weekly basis at their computers, they would consistently communicate via their MySpace profiles - learning about each other, their musical interests, each other’s fans, and their goals to be strived for. Eventually, Scott would learn that as a child, Elena was always fascinated with Hawai’i. She’d watch television and movies that pertained to anything Hawaiian. Captivated by her books and photographs of the beautiful Hawaiian Isles, Elena would always dream about the day when she would really be there in tropical paradise. Elena would learn that for Scott, he grew up with a fascination about his English bloodline. As Scott is a multi-cultural person with eight ethnicities, since childhood, he would indulge into anything and everything from England. In the footsteps of her ancestors like Lord William Lovell of Minster Lovell in England, Elena is carrying on with a distinguished family tradition in the public arena. Just the same, Scott is holding the torch for his royal Hawaiian lineage, bringing much light and global consciousness to the great ‘Spirit of Aloha’. Quite remarkably, as though it’s written in the stars, Elena Vogt is currently being embraced by her fans as the ‘Princess Diana of modern day times’ - resembling both Diana’s physical features and charismatic personality. In the same capacity, fans around the world are referring to Scott Katsura as the ‘Hawaiian Prince of Pop Music’. As time revealed, Scott and Elena would constantly encounter strange coincidences in their own lives, and synchronicities that would remind them of each other. Like the time when Elena was playing a card game that consisted of words - and low and behold, the cards she’d be holding in her hands all at once were the words: Hawai’i, singer and pineapple. On another occasion, it was Scott that was playing a trivia board game with his friends, and the answers in continual sequence read: New Jersey, Princess Diana and cell-phone. With tangible signs from the universe, undeniable similarities of public persona and artistic intentions, it became inevitable that Scott and Elena would be compelled to merge their songwriting and singing forces in the music industry, hence, both giving birth to their newly released CD-single titled, “We Come Together” - as geared for the genres of pop, r&b and adult contemporary. In addition, Scott is currently promoting his fifth CD-album titled, “Born This Way”, while Elena is in production with her forthcoming CD-Album debut. Sometimes we chase things that run away. And sometimes things come our way without even trying. In this case, “We Come Together” is a song that tells a story about the things that are meant to be. It is a deeper feeling of comfort and reassurance in knowing that a higher power does exist, sometimes even guiding us to a place far beyond our own imaginations.
