Starting out in 2002 a band called No sense formed to join the elite musicians in the little town of Charleville. Due to life and journeys, No Sense had no choice but to leave the dreams undreamt at that point in time. However Pete and Scott never gave up and searched to start a new band and follow through with those dreams. They wrote and recorded demos by their selves for many months but something was obviously missing. That’s where Lewis, also a former member of various Charleville bands, Including Violent Red, decided to join when Pete and Scott made there new home in the bay area of Brisbane. While Lewis was also in another band called Screech which included good friends Luke and Tim, he was tied between trying to practice with both bands. He then later on asked Peter if he wanted to join Screech as a rhythm guitarist. Once Peter joined it added the extra force it needed to get this band going and get there songs tight. Straight away they all became good friends with the same motivation to take Screech far. During this time Pete and Lewis were still practicing on a regular basis as Defused, but there motivation was shifting towards Screech. Then on one drunken night Pete Tim and Defused Drummer Scott decided that the two bands should become one. From that moment the name Defused was dropped and Screech stayed. Now with more songs in the bag then the band know what to do with they're ready to take on the world. After their first ever screech show in Nov 9 2007, screech have gained a ever growing fan base and have played with some of Brisbane’s best punk/rock/hardcore bands to date. They played 2008’s “Make Poverty History” with bands such as Nina May, Miacarla, The Sleepers, From Hearts to Heroes, Drawcard, Emporium. Screech have also supported bands such as Repeat Offender, Falling Short, False Start (NZ), Guns For Glory (NSW), A Year To Remember, Finabah, Forgiven Rival (VIC), Me Vs You. And in the upcoming months screech will be playing Go Extreme Festival with Amity Affliction, Mourning Tide, Guns For Glory, The Gifthorse and More. With the recent release of there Debut EP, Screech are always writing and performing new material and putting 110% into every show they play, and are keen to take their music on the road in the near future and work hard to make something successful out of the one thing they love doing.
