Biography

Over the years, I’ve had quite a few people write bios about me and my music. I figure this time, I’ll just let you hear it straight from me. I started writing songs as a kid on the family piano and probably learned most of what I know about melody and harmony from singing in church. I lived in the midwest growing up, and wound up in Southern California for ten years during my young adulthood, where I formed the Alt-Country Band COME AND GO with my brother, Shane, in the late 90’s. ...

We started off playing the local dive bars, grew a following, and then went on to play the big clubs in L.A. like the Whisky, the Troubadour, and the El Rey. After a lot of self-produced low-fi demos and so-called albums, we signed a record deal with Purify Records and released ‘SHINEBOX’ in 2005, which set us off touring the country, and landing songs in TV and Film here and there. After touring with the band, and as a solo act, I pretty much ended up broke and in Fort Worth with my family. I started playing The Sad Bastard Show with some local singer/songwriter friends, produced a couple of demos, and wrote a lot of songs at the time. I was hoping for a few things to pan out for the band, not much knowing what to do with myself, and not feeling too good about the situation in general. As you can imagine, when an opportunity came up to move to Austin in 2007, it didn’t take me long to pack up my stuff and high-tail it down this way. With half my band in L.A., and a quarter of it in Dallas, I’ve been spending most of my time putting together a studio and recording a solo album entitled “Faith and Proof,” comprised mostly of songs written while on the road in 2005 and 2006. I hope to have it released sometime this year. You can bet I’ll be out and about in the Austin area playing some shows after that.
